The secret of the MOON SHOT regenerating serum
The secret of the MOON SHOT regenerating serum

How to make a good natural cosmetic, regenerating serum?

It is not enough to mix valuable ingredients together. In the composition, which is the finished product, each ingredient has its own task and its meaning, and its amount is precisely defined. More is not better - balance and interaction of raw materials - this is the way to an effective recipe. When it comes to natural resources, unfortunately, there are no studies on how much of which oil should be added to get the best effect. Recipes are therefore the result of tests, trials and comparisons. And here we come to the most important issue - well-thought-out, repeatedly tested recipes. The formula of the regenerating serum was changed, refined and tested for over a year before we found it to be good and effective. Opinions about this product, which are slowly coming back to us, confirm that it was worth setting the bar high. We are very happy about it!

A cosmetic that repairs the skin.

We wanted to create a cosmetic that would restore the skin to its proper condition. In conversations with women, a recurring theme is the problem of dry skin, irritation, the feeling of tension, and roughness. We look for reasons in poor quality of water, air, weather, and wearing hats (dry forehead). Let's add to this our daily beauty and care treatments - make-up, and make-up removal. With high probability, we can be tempted to diagnose that the hydrolipid coat of our skin may have been affected. The most common mistake is looking for moisturizing cosmetics - light formulas, and gels. This only brings temporary relief, but will not help in the long run. In such a situation, the skin needs to be nourished and regenerated, rebuild the hydrolipid coat, and at the same time protect against moisture loss. We are very happy to use a term that, in our opinion, best reflects the essence of the action. Namely, the skin needs to be repaired, restored to its proper functioning, rebuilt, and nourished. And this is where MOON SHOT comes in – BIOUP regenerating serum.

The basis of a regenerating serum is always the quality of raw materials.

The quality of raw materials is a fundamental issue for us. Most of the oils included in our products have a certificate of ecological origin. This means that not only were they not treated with chemicals during cultivation, but also the oil pressing process was natural (without solvents, whose residues often remain in oils). Most oils are unrefined, i.e. they are not subjected to additional purification, which deprives the oil of some nutrients. The price for this is their characteristic, quite intense smell, but people familiar with natural cosmetics usually do not mind it.

How does the serum work and effectively regenerate the skin?

We based the recipe on three oils with outstanding skin-regenerating and repairing properties: avocado, tamanu, and pumpkin. In addition, we used evening primrose oil and a range of precious oils with smoothing, revitalizing and protecting the skin - argan, baobab and pomegranate seeds, and squalane from sugar cane. Marshmallow extract provides additional hydration and soothes the skin. The whole is complemented by a strong duo of vitamins C and E - rejuvenating, antioxidant, and revitalizing.

A characteristic feature of all the raw materials used is a very high content of unsaturated fatty acids (EFA). Their richness in both the diet and cosmetics determines the proper hydration of the skin and its proper metabolism. The lack of these acids is manifested, among others, by the weakening of the skin's protective barrier, dryness of the epidermis, excessive keratosis, flaking, easy irritation and redness of the skin, and slow healing processes. They are also distinguished by the exceptional abundance of plant sterols (phytosterols). They are the equivalent of sterols found in human skin, strengthening the epidermal barrier, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic, and immunostimulating (strengthening the skin's immune system). They also improve the elasticity and cohesion of the skin.

No. 1 - Avocado oil

The first ingredient is avocado oil. On its own, it could become a balm for the skin. It's hard not to be amazed by its potential in cosmetic applications:

  • rich in nutrients - proteins, amino acids, phytosterols, vitamins (including A and E) and minerals
  • has strong regenerating properties - healing wounds and skin defects
  • an excellent nourishing agent for dry, damaged, cracked skin as well as for eczema and psoriasis, it is very well tolerated by the skin in long-term treatments
  • very mild, emollient, occlusive (protects against moisture loss)
  • easily penetrates the skin and facilitates the penetration of substances that are dissolved in it - so it transports them through the epidermis to the dermis
  • not only protects against UVA and UVB rays, but has the ability to reverse the damage caused by the sun
  • stimulates the production of collagen in the skin
  • has bactericidal and antifungal properties - thanks to the presence of squalene

No. 2 – Tamanu oil

Tamanu oil enjoys a well-deserved reputation as a skin-healing agent. In tropical regions where it comes from, it has been used for centuries to treat skin problems - hard-to-heal wounds, and bites. It has healing, anti-inflammatory, and antibiotic properties. It owes its action not only to a large amount of unsaturated fatty acids, but also to the richness of flavonoids. And although the extraordinary properties are confirmed even by research, we know that in high concentration it can be too intense for some people and irritates. In our serum, we added enough of it to take advantage of its effects, but the cosmetic is still gentle on the skin.

No. 3 – Pumpkin seed oil

Let's move on to the oil, which is quite rare in cosmetic formulas - which is a pity because it has a lot to offer. This is the third green oil - pumpkin seed oil. It is very rich and, apart from unsaturated fatty acids, squalene and carotenoids, it is rich in vitamins C, E, D, K, and B vitamins. In addition, it contains minerals such as selenium (one of the richest sources of selenium), zinc, calcium, iron, phosphorus . Thanks to the presence of a compound characteristic of this raw material - cucurbitin - it gently and effectively soothes irritations and brings relief. Cucurbitin also has an anti-inflammatory effect, reduces redness and roughness of the skin, accelerates regeneration, and increases elasticity.

No. 4 – Evening Primrose Oil

Evening primrose oil is one of the bio-oils - oils with high biological and pharmacological activity. It contains about 80% of EFAs (unsaturated fatty acids) from the omega-6 series. It perfectly complements the deficiencies of GLA acid in the body. Interestingly, the best results are achieved by applying the oil internally and externally to the skin. It is worth emphasizing here once again that the presence of this acid in our body and in our skin is important for its proper functioning. Its lack manifests itself in increased susceptibility to skin allergies, excessive keratosis, and exfoliation of the epidermis and can lead to pathological and dermatological changes (e.g. atopic dermatitis).

Noble oils that complement the regenerating serum

Complementing the recipe with unique cosmetic oils - argan, baobab, and pomegranate seeds as well as squalane from sugar cane, enhances the smoothing, elasticizing, firming, and ... regenerating properties - because it was mainly about reconstruction and regeneration in our recipe!
