The main problem in the care of oily and acne skin is excess sebum and relatively frequent inflammation.
We always emphasize that cleansing the skin is the most important stage of care, and it is especially important for oily skin.
Sebum - a blessing or a curse for the skin?
Sebum is the secretion of our sebaceous glands. It has a decidedly negative connotation - meanwhile, it is the greatest blessing and protection of our skin. Sebum covers it with a thin layer, thus protecting it from drying out, loss of moisture, and the effects of external factors.
Everything is in perfect order as long as the production of sebum is balanced - that is, it is not too little (as with dry skin) or too much (oily, seborrheic, sometimes acne skin). There are many preparations on the market for this type of skin with the addition of alcohol or quite aggressive washing agents. When sebum is overproduced, using washing and care products with the addition of alcohol usually gives a short-term feeling of refreshment. In the long run, we actually dry the skin, and the glands are irritated and "provoked" in this way try to produce liquid sebum as soon as possible. Strong detergents work in a similar way. Of course, you need to clean your face, because bacteria quickly appear in the residual secretion mixed with dirt and impurities and it only gets worse.
How to effectively cleanse oily and acne skin?
We are looking for an effective way, but remember that it must be gentle. Excess sebum is best treated with… oil. The oil will penetrate into the pores, combined with the contaminated sebum, and will be removed with it, but the sebaceous glands will not be irritated. The skin does not realize that it is washed and does not start the production and replenishment of sebum.
We have sunflower oil for such special tasks. Of course, cold-pressed and unrefined (i.e. unrefined) oil is the best – because it retains the substances we want in its composition.
We know that the owners of oily skin often react badly to the oil treatment – but it is worth trying and learning about the effectiveness of such cleansing. Oils are also an ally for oily skin - but you need to know which ones to choose for care and which ones to avoid.
BIO sunflower oil - the basis for effective action
Sunflower oil has antibacterial and healing properties, and thus reduces inflammation. It increases skin hydration. At the same time, it normalizes the metabolism of the skin - in other words, it causes the sebaceous glands to calm down, the pores to unblock, and the number of blackheads to decrease after some time. And last but not least – it is non-comedogenic – so it does not clog skin pores. Already a few hours after applying sunflower oil, the skin's protective barrier is strengthened. Dry and delicate skin can also benefit from these benefits - it is a universal oil suitable for everyone. Although it does not tempt with its exotic origin, it is one of the raw materials most valued by the BIOUP team.
Sunflower oil is one of the base ingredients of our Face Cleansing Oil. We will also immediately add that it is an oil with a certificate of ecological origin - from controlled crops and processed (pressed) in accordance with the requirements for organic products.
Apricot, grape, and squalane - complement the needs of the skin
It is its presence and combination with delicate, non-overburdening apricot and grape oils that make many of our clients struggling with oily and acne skin problems notice improvement while using it. The addition of sugar cane squalane - which, having a high affinity for human sebum, is perfectly tolerated by the skin, easily penetrates it, making it more flexible and softening, giving an unbelievable feeling of comfort on the skin both during and after washing. The whole action is complemented by the organic lemon essential oil. It is he who gives the cosmetic a bactericidal and virucidal, cleansing, refreshing and slightly brightening effect.
BIOUP hydrophilic washing oil - a composition created for the needs of the skin
Hydrophilic washing oil contains a composition of oils that guarantee effective but at the same time gentle cleansing of the skin. First of all, sunflower oil with its normalizing effect on the skin is supplemented with apricot and grape seed oils. An important component of the composition is squalane from sugar cane, which will take care of leaving the skin smooth and elastic. Rinse the hydrophilic cleansing oil with water until the skin is clean. Already during washing, when combined with water, it loses its oil properties and turns into delicate milk. So you don't have to worry about unpleasant greasy sensations during washing. The most important aspect of using this oil, however, is the fact that it is extremely gentle on the skin. So, it does not irritate the sebaceous glands and allows the skin to calm down over time - having a normalizing effect on it.
The most common mistake when cleansing the skin
After washing the face, an important next step is to restore the skin to its proper, i.e. slightly acidic pH. Restoring the correct pH should be treated as the correct end of skin cleansing - unfortunately, in practice, it is very often overlooked. The skin-neutral pH is around 5.5-6. Any washing preparation will raise this pH. We want our skin to return to its comfort, so we tone it - that is, we lower the pH with a tonic / hydrolate. Why are we doing this? The main reason is that at this pH, the skin copes better, functions better, all metabolic processes work better, and its defense systems work better - in other words, everything is better. So she is better prepared for the next cosmetics and will use them more. With a lowered pH, bacteria will also be less active on our skin - so for skin prone to inflammation, it is of additional importance.
